Dear Me, On the Day Everything Changed

Dear Me, On the Day Everything Changed

Dear Me,

I know today is hard. It feels like the end of something.

You heard those words—“It’s cancer”—and everything around you blurred.
The air felt thick. Your body went cold.
You nodded politely, but inside, something cracked open.

You didn’t cry right away. You were too stunned for that.
You tried to hold it together, thinking, “If I can just get through today…”

You are already stronger than you realize.

You’re about to face things you never imagined.
Appointments. Tests. Scans. Needles. Conversations where the future feels uncertain.

You’ll wonder how this became your life.
You’ll wonder if you’ll lose everything—your hair, your peace, your identity.

But listen:
You will not lose you.

You’ll feel fear, yes. But also courage.
You’ll feel broken, but also rebuilt.

Let yourself fall apart when you need to.
Ask for help. You don’t have to carry this alone.
You are not a burden—you are a warrior in the making.

One day, you’ll look back at this version of you with nothing but love.

Today is not the end.
It’s the beginning of a new kind of strength.

Love,
Me
